Academic Strategy Program

Personalized Support for Stronger Academic Skills—and Greater Independence

For students in grades 5–9 who are capable of more, but need individualized support to manage increasing academic demands, study effectively, and become more independent learners.

When School Starts Requiring More Than Just “Doing the Homework”

As students move through middle school and into high school, academic success requires much more than understanding the material.

Students are expected to manage multiple classes, prepare independently for tests, keep track of assignments, recognize when they need help, and know how to study effectively—often without ever being explicitly taught how to do these things.

For students with ADHD, learning differences, processing weaknesses, or executive-function challenges, the gap between what they are capable of and how they perform at school can become increasingly frustrating.

The LearnWell Academic Strategy Program provides individualized 1:1 support that addresses the skills behind successful learning—not just the assignment due tomorrow.

What We Work On

Because every student is different, sessions are individualized around the student's current academic needs and real school demands.

Students may work on:

  • Academic Planning & Organization — Managing assignments, tests, projects, deadlines, and busy school weeks.

  • Effective Studying & Test Preparation — Learning how to prepare differently for math, science, history, and other classes.

  • Math Strategy & Self-Monitoring — Improving problem-solving, recognizing recurring errors, checking work, and preparing more effectively for tests.

  • Executive-Function Skills — Strengthening task initiation, time management, prioritization, follow-through, and self-monitoring through real academic work.

  • Independent Learning — Learning how to recognize what they don't know, choose an effective strategy, ask for help when needed, and rely less on parents or tutors.

More Than Homework Help

Traditional tutoring often focuses on helping a student understand a specific subject or complete the work in front of them.

At LearnWell, we look at the bigger picture:

Why does a student understand the material but still struggle on tests?

Why do they spend hours studying without getting the results they expect?

Why do they know what they should do—but have difficulty doing it independently?

We use the student's real academic work as an opportunity to teach strategies they can carry forward into future classes, tests, and increasingly demanding school years.

The goal isn't for your child to need support forever.

The goal is to help them become a more strategic, confident, and independent learner.

Your Child Is Capable. Let’s Help Them Build the Strategies to Show It.
